I can’t believe the first month of the year just flew by, can you!? This is my first update on my TBR so the January Reading Update.
I have been reading but not quite at the pace, I want to. Don’t all of us book lovers feel that?
With family visiting and winter break for my son, I could just manage to read 4 books to post about on my January Reading Update.
One is an audiobook that I finished that I had started listening to last year. Not sure if it counts as a full book for this month. It was my second audio book.
For the prompts for my reading challenges:
#ReadingWithMuffy
I had to read a book with a dog in the book/title/cover. I actually read two books with dogs. One of them was a picture book for kids called Downward Dog with Deigo so that doesn’t count. 🙂 I got an ebook from Netgalley.
#TBRChallenge2020 is the second challenge and this book covered the prompt, ‘A book from a genre you generally avoid.’
The first book that I read was Where’d You Go, Bernadette? and it fulfilled both my prompts for the two challenges. It’s a genre, story I don’t generally pick up but the moment I saw Cate Blanchett talk about it, I bought my kindle copy. It also has a huge, drooling dog called Ice cream in it.
#BrunchBookChallenge is next and the second book was Her Prince Charming and it covered the prompt of reading Indian Authors and Indie authors. Sundari Venkatraman is both as she is published as an indie as well as a trad author.
.
The audiobook I listened to was In Too Deep (Others of Edenton Book 1) by Brandy Rivers. It covers another prompt for the TBR Challenge.
Brody is a talented motorcycle mechanic and werewolf stuck in his painful past. Fallon is a brilliant tattoo artist with inherent magic. Be prepared for monsters, magic and lots of ink.
This is the book round-up and while I still have to post all reviews I am on to reading the next book.
More updates and reviews will follow for these books for the January Reading Update shortly.
You can join me on Instagram where I update my reading and writing journey most promptly.
Till next time happy reading.
