Recipe For A Perfect Wife by Karma Brown #CookingFreedom

Recipe for a Perfect Wife by Karma Brown is a book that was a surprisingly good read.

📚💚👩I was worried that I may not connect with the old-time USA or the vintage feel of the book. The book transcends time and is as relevant today as it was ages ago with its women-centric theme.

📚💚👩The author has balanced the book with the past and the present for the two women and how they grow in their life makes it a wonderful pacy read.

📚💚👩 I got this book from the @legendpress and was immediately pulled to the story. I am sure they have an excellent collection of books.

📚💚👩What I liked was the seamless transition from Alice to Nellie and their stories. Both the ladies were able to own their stories and the troubles they faced.

💚👩📚Actually, Nellie was the inspiration for Alice and helped find herself in the process. The connection between the two was the invisible bond that brought the story alive.

📚💚👩The different housewives and their issues whether they were from the past or the present, the issues had a similar undercurrent ensuring I never felt that the topic or story was obsolete. It was rather engaging and ensured a good read.

📚💚👩 I enjoyed Recipe for a Perfect Wife for Nellie for being who she was and being true to her character and the sass she adds to the story.

📚💚👩Alice and the self-awareness she finds making her real and relatable. She displayed amazing strength of character and resilience. And her secret made her human in my eyes, if only more women could get that sneaky!

📚💚👩Stoic, silent yet deeply meaningful to women and wives today as much as it was for the ladies in the 1950s. The husbands are there, as varied as they come. The story won’t be what it is without the men. They are characters that speak of the times we live in.

📚💚👩The cooking, perfection and the old charm of a USA housewife.
Kinda like desperate housewives but much deep. I had felt that maybe the cooking might be difficult or the book would be like a jazzed up recipe book but the story of these two women is the focal point with the cooking being the binding agent.

💚👩📚 The book gives us a lot of food for thought with lots of food to cook as well.

📚💚👩
Recipes and letters and the dishes made were an awesome connect. ~Cooking Freedom~

When Alice finds a vintage cookbook buried in the basement, she becomes captivated by its previous owner: 1950s housewife Nellie Murdoch. As Alice cooks her way through the past, she realizes that within the pages Nellie left clues about her life.
