30 Dec Book Review “Trouble Blows West”
Ginnie the impulsive, bubbly and cute little naughty girl is still getting into trouble in this second book of The Ginnie West Adventures.
In fact this time she manages to rope in her friends and her twin brother as well as her best friend Tilly. How does her family react; do they support her or do they guide her and help her friends?
She is testing the patience of everyone in her family and even her twin for once finds her attitude disagreeable. The school bully Pierce is gunning for Toran and she stands in the way trying to save her twin brother! Who needs no saving but how will the impulsive Ginnie understand. She manages to get the better of Pierce not once but twice.
This story raises a very important question about abuse and bullying. A lot of parents and children face such bullying and threats every day. It is an unfortunate reality that many of our children face both at home and at school. The author has tackled this issue with great finesse. The adults and children have both discussed and tackled this issue with a lot of maturity. I was surprised by the presence of mind and forgiveness shown by the children.
I wish more children and adults had the wisdom and kind hearts like the West Kids. This story is a pleasant and fast paced read with a lot of twists and turns. It kept me engaged and looking forward to how would the twins finally get out of trouble and what would happen to Pierce? The bully too needs a patient ear and someone to guide him, how it all comes together is simply effortless.
A book with a good message and great storyline talking about the pitfalls all of our children do face many times.
Read and find out if this is how you would want your child to come out of “Trouble”?
