Creativity & Inspiration

If someone would have asked me if I would be writing and blogging some time in my life a few years ago, I would have said no. I do not see myself as a writer.

What inspires a person to do better, more than what they are doing or to go looking for more challenges and avenues to express themselves? How does creativity guide us?

For me both creativity & inspiration are the two sides of the same coin with one supporting the other.

Even though I have written in various diaries and love writing really, really long letters. I never thought of myself as a writer, even when I wrote scripts for ladies club and various events.

I miss the paper letters and the old world charm of expressing my feelings on paper. There is something cathartic about penning ones emotions. So many ideas just fade away because we do not write them instantly! I too have now started keeping a small copy handy or I draft an email to myself!!

This is how I ventured into writing fiction, little that I write but I do get very positive response from my kind blog readers and generous friends. It was right here on Write Tribe that I attempted my first piece of fiction for a writing prompt. I know I still have a long way to go!

The response I got & the thrill I felt about writing something different and so off my style that I was hooked. Even though I do not write fiction too often, I still feel a pull towards it and often try to find time to answer prompts. Between the main thrust area of my blog of book reviews and writing for work and the endless amount of reading tempting me where ever I turn fiction gets stifled somewhere.

Life is all about ‘pushing the envelope’ and challenging the ‘status quo’ so I too will be sorting my schedule a bit better to find more time for my creative pursuits and hopefully keep getting inspired by the prompts at write tribe.

–  Dee Hock

For me creativity & inspiration are the sugar & spice of this life, pretty hard to live with out them!! What about you?
