The Smitten Husband is a short novella, a light fun read. I enjoyed the book and finished it in one sitting. The book has characters from The Runaway Groom and they are the only common link to the novel since this novella, story, style, and the hot quotient is all so different and in a good way!
It is the story of the arranged marriage of the very rich, handsome, amiable and kind Ram. He is looking for a girl who would be his partner and his parents suggest a match with Sapna and true to her name she is a dream come true for him.
That she is strong-willed, beautiful, hard-working and totally not prepared for Ram. He sweeps her off and her whole life changes yet she is not ready to face the fact that love is also part of the deal. Sapna is full of doubts regarding Ram, his ideas and why has he married a poor girl like her.
Nothing but her pride keeps them apart as she is equally awed and enamored by him. I just enjoyed this fast paced, racy novella. Sundari has made an effortless jump from the sweet Indian romances to these fun, hot, and sweet novellas. They are a perfect read for when we are short on time and just refresh us.
Not too much drama or twists in the story but still it clicks. I did find that Ram was a bit too perfect especially since he is so adjusting. Sapna was looking for trouble where there was none so I am glad Ram was so smitten. I am already on to the next book in the series since I found this one so pleasurable to read.
Pick this book for a breezy, quick fix for lovers of hot romance and you will be quite The Smitten Reader as well.
