Guilty #atozchallenge

His hands shook as he lifted the parcel from the table.  Picking up the flap he lifted out a carved box which had his name on it. He felt the sheet of paper first when he opened the box and remembered her love for handmade paper.  He sighed as he picked his mother’s favorite trinkets from the box. It had taken months of pleading before his brother had sent them across. A tear slid down his cheek unnoticed as he held them and read the note from his mother. He wondered what it was that had kept him away.

Through the month of April I am writing along with over 1900 participants for the A to Z Challenge. My theme for the Alphabet Challenge is FEELINGS and FICTION. The happy, sad, funny, silly, envious, over the top and totally low down account of feelings in 100 words of fiction.

It’s sad. We take them for granted many a times and doesn’t realize that they are growing older and that time is running fast. Such a moving post!

  14. Beat About The Book

That’s sad. Yeah we need to remember that our parents won’t be around for ever. As the kids are growing older they are turning more and more reluctant to go to Dadi’s and Nani’s house during the holidays (it’s in the same city so that’s good) but my husband and I make it a point for them to be there each summer.
