 My Review –

Sweet T and the Turtle Team is the Book 3 of the Sweet T Tales. I have read the first book and sweet T or Tara was just as intelligent, kind and helpful as she is now. Making friends, learning new things and enjoying her summer with the turtles, this books kept me hooked.

The book shares about the conservation of turtles and their nests. How the children learn and help the elders care for the nests as they ‘boil’, I was surprised too but once I knew the details, it is all so exciting. Helping her Aunt May around the storm, being brave and kind, Sweet T does it all.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Sweet T watercolors

This book is a treasure since it gently introduces the readers to learn about the sea turtles and children with dyslexia. The subtle, kind way of helping kids not only enjoy their summer vacation but also learn and help others makes it a great book for kids.

Aunt May, Billy, Jenna, Carolina and Parker have a fun summer with the turtles and Tara. I found the book extremely engaging and full of good ideas for kids. The pretty watercolour illustrations made it even more engaging. Sweet T and the Turtle Team made me wish I could see the turtles for myself. Be a child yet again, see the wonder all around me and enjoy Mother Nature.

Nine-year old Tara (or Sweet T as her family sometimes calls her) is determined to see hatchlings make it safely from their nests to their ocean home. Summering on Gull Island with Great Aunt Mae could be tons of fun, but T is having a hard time making new friends with island children, let alone finding kids to help her monitor a sea turtle nest. There’s little sister Jenna, but Jenna is, well, little. Fuzzy is around, too, but Jenna’s blue stuffy rabbit gets lost all the time. Besides, a toy bunny can’t help protect turtle nests.Tara befriends Billy, a moody island child. He teaches her skimboarding and shows her the best shelling spots. But Billy stomps away when she asks him to read the “Turtle Team Guide” and join her in saving baby sea turtles. What’s up with Billy? He’s nice one minute and grumpy the next. And why does he refuse to join T’s Turtle Team? T can’t figure him out.A tropical storm threatens Gull Island just as the sea turtle nest is ready to hatch. T must abandon the nest and prepare for bad weather.

  • Will Sweet T and her friends keep safe from the storm?
  • Will the sea turtle nest survive angry ocean waves?

Sweet Tara and her turtle team make this book sound so inviting and interesting. Teaching about sea turtles and helping kids with learning difficulties in an enraging story is commendable. I want to read this lovely story now that you have reviewed this book so beautifully.
