“We Are the World Blogfest” seeks to promote positive news. There are many cases of love and light out there, stories that show compassion and the resilience of the human spirit. Sharing these stories increases our awareness of hope in our increasingly dark world. We will link to charities supported by the co-hosts, and you could choose to donate to some of them or add links to local charities you support, so we could all chip into a good cause if we like. Let us flood social media with peace and love, and “In Darkness, Be Light.” We Are The World Blogfest this July 2017. Hope you will join us!

Here are the Co hosts for today, do visit them.

~~~GUIDELINES~~~
1. Keep your post to below 500 words, as much as possible.
2. All we ask is you link to a human news story on your blog on the last Friday of each month, one that shows love, humanity, and brotherhood. Something like this news, about a man who only fosters terminally ill children.
3. Join us on the last Friday of each month in sharing news that warms the cockles of our heart. No story is too big or small, as long as it goes beyond religion and politics, into the core of humanity.
4. Place the WE ARE THE WORLD Badge on your sidebar, and help us spread the word on social media. Tweets, Facebook shares, G+ shares using the #WATWB hashtag through the month most welcome. More Blogfest signups mean more friends, love and light for all of us.
5. We’ll read and comment on each others’ posts, get to know each other better, and hopefully, make or renew some friendships with everyone who signs on as participants in the coming months.
6. To signup, add your link in WE ARE THE WORLD Linky List below.
    This is brilliant! Indeed, planting trees is such an important thing, and one so often overlooked. If all of us planted just one tree in our lifetimes (instead of being responsible for hundreds and thousands being cut down)… These 10 people and their stories, their missions, really did a great job of restoring my faith in humanity for today. Thanks, Inderpreet!
    I think planting trees is a great idea. I hope that anyone who plants a tree keeps safety in mind for the present and future. Thanks for sharing and for being a part of #WATWB
    What’s encouraging is that some countries, such as France, have reversed the trend towards deforestation and now have forest regeneration. Poorer countries like Madagascar are still in a quite catactrophc phase, but as your post shows, it is possible given the willpower and commitment. A very encouraging list there!
    How wonderful to see these people planting trees for the environment and the animals that rely on them. In the 1980’s, I participated in some group re-forestation projects, reclaiming crop land. Today, there is no sign that there were ever fields. It looks like it had always been forest. Thank you for sharing this with us Inderpreet.
    This is my lifelong dream– to plant a few trees that would live on after I’m long gone. This is a beautiful post– a huge salute to these green warriors. Makes me ashamed that I haven’t done more to plant trees.
      Yes, planting trees is a perfect gift for those who come after us. I plant a couple of fruit trees in every house I live. You can do it now, it’s never too late, Damyanti.
    Hi Inderpreet – what a great post … this is one we can all do … plant a tree that’s native to our area or give a tree for someone else to plant – they are as you mention essential to life … our oxygen for living … wonderful idea for the #WATWB … cheers Hilary
      Thank you Hilary. I do plant a tree where ever I move to. It’s a wonderful thing to see it grow. Lots of plantation drives also take place now so it’s good to see greenery around.
