My thoughts on DRAGONS ARE REAL by Valarie Budayr

I have read books by Valarie and I have always enjoyed them, Dragons Are Real is no exception. I did not read the book immediately but I waited to read the book with my son, not taking a peek till we sat to read it together. It was lovely time as we bonded over this excellent book.

As a parent, I found this to be a perfect present for him. He fell in love with the book after seeing the first image and was eager to read more. It is a simple and cute story with delightful dragons on every page. The story is so hilarious and since it does not rhyme it is much more fun to read, like a proper book. The humor is impeccable!

My son just turned seven and had this to say, “It was very funny and good. It was like the dragons would come alive and we would meet him around the corner. The pictures are so beautiful too.” He gives this book five stars – more if it were possible! My son loved the story and he laughed so much enjoying it thoroughly. We read it twice and will be reading it again at bedtime and many times more. He read each page with rapt attention and asked a lot of questions about the pictures and the story.

We are now true believers, looking out to find our own real dragon.

Dragons Are Real is full of detailed, beautiful dragons. The pictures are so real, life like and the illustrations absolutely remarkable! Micheal is super talented!! It is a delight to read and to just see the pictures which help us understand the book and enjoy it.

A must have this summer for a wonderful addition to our library. An outstanding book indeed.

Book Description:

What if I told you that all of the fairy tales, myths and legends that have been told about dragons over the years are WRONG? What if I told you that Dragons are indeed REAL and that they are different than you’ve ever imagined? Did you know that Dragons are the master of disguises? Did you know that they love sugar and sweets (at unacceptable levels) and will do anything for treats? Award winning author Valarie Budayr brings us this fairly true story based on her childhood friendship with a REAL live Dragon.
