Frustrated #atozchallenge

It slipped as she held on.

She tried to grip it tighter but her hand started to pain, the wood pressing her bones.

She stopped and looked around but there was no solution.

She felt uncertain, she had been trying to hold it for a while now but it just did not listen to her.

She was on the verge of tears but decided to give it one more try.

She held it softly as told and tried to move it on the dots but it just slipped away.

Frustrated, teary and upset she flung the pencil at her classmates.

Through the month of April I am writing along with over 1900 participants for the A to Z Challenge. My theme for the Alphabet Challenge is FEELINGS and FICTION. The happy, sad, funny, silly, envious, over the top and totally low down account of feelings in 100 words of fiction.Β

Frustration does make us throw pencils at each other! But it’s really sad for this cute child. Does she have some physical abnormality? I do hope she learns to grip the pencil soon.

Loved this flash fiction, Indy πŸ™‚

Oops, I was wondering what she was holding on to. Excitement was built till the very last sentence. Poor kid! And I loved the post πŸ™‚

I couldn’t help smiling reading it, her indomitable spirit and attitude without being conscious. You’ve constructed the image so vibrant. I wanna hug and says, it’s fine, kiddo:)

Learning to hold the pencil right and going ahead with joining the dots can take a lot of effort for a young child. I have seen similar frustration when my child started school.
Your poignant narration made me want to hug the child & tell her “it’s okay”.

    short and sweet
brevity is’nt my forte so when i see things expessed so accurately in such few words i must say i feel jealous

nicely expressed will be back for more

Instead of support for her frustrations, she would sure to be penalized for her little tantrum – poor thing. Nicely done!
