When I was asked by Devika to beta-read this book I was both surprised and amazed. Surprised because I had thought Felicia had found herself and amazed because this book opened up new possibilities.
This is book 2 of the Fire Trilogy and it is equally exciting and fiery as book 1. I had thought that Joshua and Felicia would be quite content in their lives in Iceland but that’s not what was in store for them. This book brings in contact with the smart, handsome, in your face dude called Kyle. One cannot help but fall under his charm as do most of the ladies in the book but Joshua is made of sterner stuff!
Dancing with Fire is true to its name, as the fire magic makes them dance and jump to its tunes. Even though both of them have magic in them but it is the fire that makes its presence felt time and again. Are they following a chosen path or are they being guided to their doom? This book spins the mystery and magic making it a fast read. Crisp, clear language and beautiful imagery make it a delight to read. Devika’s descriptions of Iceland, it breathtaking beauty and the exploring of the power of Mother Nature add to the reading experience. The detailed descriptions made me felt as if I have already visited Iceland yet whetted my appetite to actually visit the country. It is on my list now.
Kyle with his particular brand of action and cockiness adds to the potent mix, making the dream of a peaceful life even more difficult for Felicia and Joshua. Add the impending doom – an uncanny rise in the number of natural disasters and this book is unputdownable. The heady attraction between Kyle and Felicia actually made the book extra crisp! 😉 They seem to be a perfect match as their powers and magic collide unlike Joshua who is literally the cool one in this book.
This is a fast paced read and the fire power and magic both good and evil is explored in this book as Felicia tries to understand and learn more about the gift. The source of the power, its purpose and the result of her actions are all explored in this book. As she tries to understand herself both Kyle and Joshua vie for her attention.
The chemistry is crackling and the danger rising with this book and a full blown confrontation on the cards. Devika has added to the Fire magic and Ice magic and still I am unable to decide which one will I choose? Maybe Book 3 Living With Fire will sort my issues.
(I received a copy of the book from the author, the views are my own.)
When a fire witch and an ice wizard flee to Iceland to build a new life, they never expect the one thing that could tear them apart – Kyle, adding his own magic into the mix. Felicia starts questioning everything they have. She is torn between the man who loves her but is her polar opposite, and the man who attracts her but means nothing but trouble.
As if her confusing emotions weren’t enough, Felicia finds her life turned upside down when a terrifying natural disaster threatens the end of the country and the entire world.
Will she be able to control her gift and play the part that is expected of her? Will she give in to temptation or will she save the world?
