Author Interview with Nyeshia

Is He Even Worth It?
Today I have a young, talented and very motivated lady grace my blog. As a part of the “Authors & Readers Book Corner Tours” I have this opportunity to interview Nyeshia. She writes romantic fiction spiced with the dilemmas and trials that young love faces today. Without further delay, over to Nyeshia.

1.    What has been your motivation for writing this book, ‘Is he even worth it?” and“Could it be true?”

My motivation for me to be writing these books, was allowing myself to do something that I wanted to do and let others out there to read my passion for writing.

2.   A cover is worth a thousand words; Did you choose the cover or was it designed by someone else?

My book covers was designed by someone else, but I had the choice on whether I like it or not. My covers on my books are my first choice, that I see, and I love it.

3.       While you were writing, did you ever feel as if you were one of the characters?

Yes, I did. In certain parts I actually felt that I was the characters, because I could relate to it, and I know others can, also.

4.    Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
I want my readers to know in my books, that we all go through something in our lifetime, and everything that we do is a learning experience, whether it’s good or bad.
5.     Give us three “Good to Know” facts about you. Be imaginative. Tell us about your first career, the inspiration for your writing, any fun details that would enliven your page. Consider here your likes and dislikes, your interests and hobbies, your favorite ways to unwind — whatever comes to mind.

·          I maybe quiet, or used to be quiet, but when it comes to writing I am as loud, and my mind takes me on an adventure that you have to keep up.
·          People can’t believe I write 50 to more pages, when they knew I was becoming an author. It’s crazy, when I’m writing for a school paper I don’t like it, but when it comes down to writing I love it.
·          I hate certain kinds of vegetables such as; squash, zucchini. I used to hate broccoli but I like it now. It’s good to eat healthy things. It helps you stay fit, and have a healthy life.
·          Well, I know that you asked three, but I want to add another one. Certain aspects of the books are kind of base on some experience that I encountered, but obviously I switch it up a bit.
6.      What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?

It’s not easy as it looks, you can’t just write something to write it, and then put it out there. You have to go through writing, planning, and having time to write, and making time for other things that you want to do. Then, after that, reading it over, editing, and finalizing things, then it’s the final part in putting out there. So much to do, but it will be worth it in the end.
7.       What can we expect from you in the near future? Any sequels or new books in the pipeline?

I’m working on a spin-off to Is He Even Worth It? Maybe no more than two to it, I’m not really sure. Also, my other new books that I’ve started a while back, and a whole lot more. I’m working on a book with my publisher, so be on the lookout for that, and some other stuff with her, and the other authors of Cynthia Blue Creations.
Thank you so much Nyeshia for this candid chat. I enjoyed learning more about your writing, motivation and work in progress. I wish you the very best for your writing and lots of best sellers!

Keep writing.

Book Excerpt One

Chapter 1: Teresa

“Hey Baby,” a voice called from behind me. “Wait up,” I continued to walk a little faster I didn’t want to hear what he had to say. I just had to go and get my mind off of what I had just seen. I tried to walk faster into my apartment where we live around the block from each other, but he had caught up to me. “Wait, we need to talk. He ran, stopping in front of me with sad eyes.
Boy, please! I thought.” “Talk,” I said, “about how for the past three years that we’ve been together, you decided to be with someone else. Is that what you want to talk about? You know what, we talked and good luck with her. I hope she’s the one you want. My three years plus her one week, or day or whatever, she’s got a lot of catching up to do, so goodbye.”
“Teresa, I’m sorry for what I did, I never wanted it to happen this way. You know I love you.”
“You have a funny way of showing it, that’s not love, that’s heartache and you wasted my time loving you, all I ever wanted from you was to be honest like I was to you, but you showed me otherwise. I loved you, cared for you, defended our relationship to people who said we wouldn’t make it, or last less than six months. But yet, here I am looking at you together with another woman, who isn’t me. I’m the fool, I’m the one who was blind, while everybody else could see the real you. So you know what? I’m happy for you and her because now you can see what you had missed out on; a good woman and the only one that can love you the way that I can.”
I went up to my apartment and left him there like he’s dumbfounded and lost. I went into my room, took a shower and listened to Monica’s Until It’s Gone. It’s true when people say that you never know what you have until it’s gone.

Book Excerpt Two

Chapter 3: Teresa

The weekend couldn’t get here fast enough. I’ve been dreading for this weekend to come ever since I talked to Tiara and Taylor at work. So, I decided to do some studying for a little while before it was time to get ready.
It was after 8, and I decided to get ready, wash and put my clothes on. You know it takes a while to look fabulous in any occasion. After about five shots of Yellow Tail Wine Moscato, I am ready to get my party on and do me tonight. Just have to wait on Taylor and Tiara. It was about 8:45pm and Tiara and Taylor was here. My girls looked fierce. Tiara has on a short, solid color pink lace panel strap dress with a Givenchy pink cut-out shoe boots, with her Gucci bag purse. Taylor has on a sold blue asymmetrical one shoulder that came above the knee with her blue stilettos with the zipper on the sides. We all have it going on tonight. Our outfits fit perfectly with our 5’7” frame. I’m planning on celebrating real well tonight. We all headed out and gotten in Taylor’s 2013 Silver Mercedes Benz, she turned on the radio and one of my many favorite songs came on; Ciara feat. Nicki Minaj I’m Out. They’re Taylor and Tiara’s favorite singer and rapper. I personally don’t have a favorite, but if I like the song, I like them. This song tonight is speaking to me right now.
“I just went through a break up (oh-yeah-yeah-yeah). But its okay, I got my cake up (oh-yeah-yeah-yeah) Do my hair, put on some make-up (oh-yeah-yeah-yeah) trying going to see what tonight’s going to take us (oh-yeah-yeah-yeah).”
We sang, and sang that song. Every word that I heard was speaking to me. I’m going to have a good time tonight…….. I’m Out!
