Book Preview

Axel & Theo take us on an intergalactic journey! Axel and his dog travel to planet Doglin when Axel comes to know that his sweet little dog is actually an alien and can speak. Not only that but the dogs have their arch enemies as cats and a few different monsters too. Along the ride Axel to saves Theo and learns a few life lessons.
This book maintains the reader’s attention as it takes them from one surprise to another along with a few challenges and trips. I enjoyed reading the book as Axel learned about the planet Doglin; lots of great imagery here. He also learns to stand up for himself and defend himself through self defense classes.
This story is a fast read and hard to put down as team of Axel and Theo who is really an emperor, explore and learn about the planet. The book also talks about bullies and how to stand up for oneself. Overall I enjoyed reading this book as I suspect will the kids. It is a light, breezy, fun read that leaves the child with a message and some sound advice.
The illustrations in the book add to the story line and are sometimes funny and cute. I find the pictures of Axel fighting the bully Walter very inspiring. If a weenie dog can stand up for a bully so can children. Learning to fight back and stand up for the right things is most important.
I am ready for more adventures with this dynamic team.

(I received a copy of the book in exchange of an review from Mother Daughter Book Reviews.)

After completing her BA in early childhood education she began her teaching career. “After my first year of teaching second grade, I had so many ideas swirling around in my head, I had to write. Today, her children provide the inspiration to her many stories, along with everything else she loves in life.
