The Promise Of Palm Grove #BOOKREVIEW

My Review

The story of Leona and Zach is so sweet and tender, wishing that everyone found such love. The Promise Of Palm Grove is about a young, innocent love yet it made me realize how true, real, good love likes us for what we are. How true love never tries to change but grows with us.  Simple pleasures and incidents make life so beautiful and that is what life is with the right partner.  I recommend this book for all young men and women as they search for true love.

I have always been fond of reading Amish Romance and so when I got an opportunity via Litfuse Publicity to read by a famous author Shelley Shepard Grey I was super excited.

The best part of this novel is its steady pace and the brilliance with which the author ensured that Leona not only finds true love but also her confidence. As the story unfolds, with each incident she finds her true self and understands what she was giving up! The characters of Leona, Mattie and Sara the three friends are as different as can be and so real that I found traces of my friends there. Add to that the parallel story of Beverly and it left me wanting to read a lot more about all the other characters. I am sure Book Two of the Pinecraft Brides will have more on Beverly!

Shelley has introduced and meshed the characters so fluidly and with such subtlety that I did not realize that I am not just reading the story of a young girl but of a family and her friends yet wanting to know more about all of them. The story unfolds swiftly and there is never a dull moment as we see the love blossom even before they themselves are aware. The beauty of the story is its clear narration, well-developed, solid characters & a thoughtful storyline. The families of both Zachary and Leona add to the depth of the story and each character is written flawlessly. I especially found Violet very spunky and vivacious.

This novel has it all; the hesitant steps of first love, finding the reflection of your love in the adoring eyes of the other and just holding hands!! I reflected on love as I read The Promise Of Palm Grove and I plan to read this book again.

Amish are simple god fearing people and it shines through in their interaction, behavior and conversations in the novel. The sweet charm and humbleness makes it a pleasure to read and I enjoyed reading the book late into the night.  The author is flawless in her writing and I was very thrilled to read the book.

I look forward to reading more books by the author and find the Amish Proverb at the beginning of very apt!

About the book:

The Promise of Palm Grove (Avon Inspire, January 2015)

Leona must decide: Does she follow the path set out before her? Or take a chance with only the promise of what could be to guide her?

A young Amish woman finds herself torn between the man she’s pledged to wed and the man her heart desires in this heartwarming story of chance, duty, and choice in the face of love—the first volume in the beloved New York Times bestselling author’s new Amish Brides of Pinecraft series.

Amish bride-to-be Leona is thrilled to be in Florida, on a mini-vacation in the pretty town of Pinecraft. Her girlfriends think she’s happy because she’s away from the stress of wedding planning. They have no idea that Leona’s real joy is in being away from her fiancé.

Edmund is a good man, and will make a decent husband . . . just not for Leona. The more time she spends with him and his overbearing ways, the less she wants to be his wife. Her cousins are sure Edmund is the right man for her—and their certainty makes Leona begin to doubt herself. But when a chance encounter with a wayward cat brings her face-to-face with a handsome, fun-loving Amish man named Zachary Kauffman, Leona’s faced with two vastly different futures.
