Author Answer’s Sarita Singh

The world of love is ever so mercurial and tranistionary that we find someone to love and cherish only to find them slipping from our lives. Today I have on my blog an author, who has touched upon that side of love which we all hesitate to even think about. Unrequited love is the fate of many lovers but there are far and few of those who use that love as a springboard to their future.

Kindly welcome Sarita Singh as she talks about the love filled, thought provoking book – Angelic Beats.

1.   What has been your motivation for writing this book Angelic Beats which has Love and Adultery as a subject?

Love and romance have been a favourite topic among authors and writers for fiction writing in literary world. I wanted to show love as a positive guiding force of life. Although it’s about an unusual relationship. But the protagonists overcome emotional dilemma and carve out a meaningful destinations for themselves. The realization of morality and inner strength brings them to a path of separation without harming each other.
2.   The cover is worth a thousand words, how much of the cover did you choose or was it designed by someone else?

I suggested the theme but the cover was designed by the publisher’s team. The final one was approved after 3rd chance.
3.   Give us three “Good to Know” facts about you and this book. Be creative.

I am a fun loving person, sometimes cynical and crazy and then I can do anything that I find worth doing and right. For truth or for what is right I can fight and that gives me real strength and sense of respect for myself which is most important to live.  About the book; when I was writing about NDA; to know and learn about the academy I contacted many people regarding life and facts about the academy. But people got little suspicious that I might use this information for some wrong and malicious purpose. But now since the book has come finally in the market, I hope I have proved my safe intentions. It’s so good to know when readers appreciate the work and even comment that it can be adapted for a bollywood movie saying where are the Filmmakers. And the most awkward as well as funny thing people ask me is that who is Sahil.

4.   If you could cast your characters in the Bollywood adaptation of your book, who would play your characters Sahil, Annika & Aakanksha ? Who would play the role of the unsuspecting husband Dr Vikram?

Sahil…Siddharth Malhotra,
Aakanksha… Katrina Kaif
Anika ….. Aliya Bhatt..
Dr Vikram….Arjun Rampal
5.   How important are names to you in your books? Do you choose the names Sahil and Aakanksha based on liking the way it sounds or the meaning? Do you have any name choosing resources you recommend?

Sahil means anchor, secured firmly in position. The character is as positive as the meaning goes.
Aakanksha ; One who is desirable or wished for, aspiration. So she is desired in Sahil’s life. She is one aspiration that couldn’t be fulfilled.
6.   What is your most important advice for aspiring authors?

Have patience and trust your work. Negative reviews and rejections are testing but vital for growth. Start searching for publisher only when you are fully satisfied with your work and have finished with all the even last minute corrections and additions. Good editing is a must. Getting published should not be the only goal. Your creativity should not suffer because of haste. Sooner or later, good work is always appreciated.

The Blurb

Angelic Beats is the story of a boy in his late teens who falls in love with a married woman. Both defy their ages; the woman for her looks and innocence and the boy for his confidence and clarity in life along with integrity. The journey of the boy for his passion also becomes journey of love for both that finally takes them to more meaningful destinations. It unfolds the changing perspective of a young boy and a married woman in various situations of life treading the path of love and success together. How they carry on with love and friendship as a responsibility is quintessence to their journeys.Love can make one completely blind or it can candle all the darkness in life.Sometimes destiny becomes the greatest magician. It brings two opposite people, Sahil and Aakanksha, on one platform. Even their personal statuses do not match for one is married and the other single. One is confident about making choices in life, whereas the other is always scared of making a choice. One is always positive, and the other is negative in outlook. Unlike mathematics, where “+” and “−” always make “−”, sometimes in real life, “+” and “−“ do make a “+” together. On the road leading to his passion, he happened to meet the first love of his life too. Before going to the National Defence Academy for the journey to be a commissioned officer in Indian Air Force finally, he introduced “love” in her and his own life and pledged his heart to her. The arrows of cupid struck her also. Do their final choices engulf all other relationships like a storm and rage and bleed their self-esteem? Or are they able to carry their choices gracefully through their quest for happiness?
