The Royal Palm Book Review

A stunning Royal Palm tree that is beautiful yet vain and selfish tree is living in a lush tropical land. She is gorgeous but a self centered, mean & rude. She has little sympathy for the less beautiful simple trees and the small animals and birds around her.   She learns that beauty that is just skin deep leaves us but it is a beautiful heart that helps us get through the hardships and trouble in life.

This is a story that teaches children about the importance of being kind, compassionate and generous. Not being selfish and vain about beauty.

It is a lesson all small children, boys & girls that being beautiful on the inside is more important than outside.

It has beautiful pictures and illustrations in vibrant colors. The trees, the winds, sun & birds; all look splendid.I only felt that the book should have shorter paragraphs and pictures on each page making it easier for children to read.

The tree is saved and helped by its shorter cousins the Palm during a fierce storm and then she realizes her folly and arrogance.

The Royal Palm moves to a beautiful sheltered garden where she is sharing her tale about where she grew up and how she misses the other simple cousins.

A lesson all of us learn sooner or later in life and this book gives an easy way of teaching our children.

“Everyone needs someone” is the message aptly delivered by this book.

A thought-provoking tale of the journey of a royal palm born on a tiny island surrounded by mysterious waters. This tender story explores the world of someone wrapped up in herself. Protected by her cousins, the short plain palms, the royal palm grew up beautiful, but very self-centered. Dreaming about life outside the island, she did not bother with her friends, who lived as one big family. Immersed in her own beauty, she only cared for herself, until one day a hurricane struck the tiny island. Then the royal p lam discovered the true meaning of family and real friendship. Inspiring story with valuable lessons to be learned and shared.
